Brand Specialist

We are seeking someone who can ensure a consistently memorable shopping experience while generating revenue for Tommy John by demonstrating a strong floor presence and upholding the company’s customer service standards. The ideal candidate is someone who is reliable, approachable and has strong conversational skills.

Responsibilities:

Administrative

  • Schedule support visits with the sales manager during peak hours at least one week in advance and upload to a shared calendar
  • Spend 2 hours each week at Tommy John HQ to update Sales team on field findings
  • Maintain current share calendar/schedule with SAE
  • Complete store surveys/recaps in detail after each visit including details on sales, inventory, product placement, mannequins/displays/outposts, product feedback, manager/associate feedback, competitor information, consumer feedback, and photos
  • Create and manage bi-monthly time & expense reports

Sales

  • Communicate selling trends, goals & sales calendar/schedules for upcoming week(s) with Sales Manager
  • Assist associates with sales to achieve sell-through results
  • Ensure monthly appointments for personal shopping are scheduled and sufficient product is pulled to support the experience
  • Monitor & analyze weekly/monthly sales reports to ensure company sales goals and metrics are achieved.
  • Build constructive relationships with all levels of store personnel: store manager(s), sales associates and stock team

Merchandising

  • Communicate with the Visual Merchandising Manager to establish/maintain prime floor location; ensure floor is set to directive, clean & replenished as stock sells down
  • Maintain display of mannequins with new and/or focus product; ensure all damaged product is processed and removed from floor

Training

  • Lead seasonal department and storewide training to generate excitement on newness, and share seasonal message & top selling styles; confirm utilization and distribution of training materials
  • Plan and organize monthly department morning rallies primarily focusing on men’s furnishings & personal stylists and other men’s departments
  • Conduct one-on-one trainings for new associates and managers, as well as departments outside of men’s furnishings
  • Host regional seminars to educate sales associates on brand, product features and benefits, and share selling strategies

Events

  • Promote and execute/carry out all product launch directives, including working with store teams to ensure product is received, correct floor/product placement & visual display(s) are set, promotional materials are distributed (i.e. tables, tents), and signage is up
  • Support in-store sales events (i.e. Friends & Family)
  • Communicate with PR to strategize and plan partnerships with other brands for promotional events
  • Implement “Focus Days” as needed
  • Execute corporate by-retailer contests and spread awareness amongst associates
  • Create and execute by-door contests approved by Tommy John, and work with Sales Manager on effective associate incentives

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Retail Merchandising or related field
  • 3-5 years of previous retail sales experience; experience in apparel/fashion preferred
  • Reliable, punctual with a positive attitude and approach to work
  • Strong communication & customer service skills; ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with management, customers and co-workers
  • Ability to abide by set goals and timelines
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time, and lift up to 20 pounds
