Merchandise Planning Manager

We are seeking someone who can drive the business through strategic merchandise planning, controlled inventory management, actionable reporting, and insightful commercial analysis. This person will work very closely with the Director of Merchandise Planning, and collaborate on efforts to build an industry leading, digitally enabled & integrated, end-to-end planning & analysis team that thinks commercially, and brings efficiency to merchandising processes.


Financial Management

  • Create pre-season financial plans and ongoing forecasts for each department down to style level
  • Develop, manage and forecast the Open to Buy (OTB)
  • Develop and manage strategies with Merchants, Brand and E-comm for sales, and inventory by department
  • Identify sales opportunities through effective strategic planning and execution that achieve financial targets
  • Identify opportunities as well as potential risks to increase sales, margin and turn

Inventory Management

  • Analyze trends and seasonality, adjusting forecasts, receipts and inventory levels as needed to support plans
  • Manage flow, velocity, priority and age of our replenishment and fashion products across multiple channels and warehouses
  • Develop, collect, and analyze weekly reporting from all channels and provide KPI’s to senior team
  • Partner with Merchants to continually manage the business through in-season analysis and in identifying re-orders
  • Review seasonal buys with Merchants (reviews focused on quantities by SKU, ensuring buys are within budgets)
    • Work closely with our wholesale partners to maximize replenishment opportunities and grow doors and assortment
    • Work closely with our Production partners to build style level buys down to size


  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a Retail space; Wholesale, Ecommerce a plus
  • 1-2 years of managerial experience in a similar capacity preferred
  • Excellent decision making capabilities clearly driven by developing strategic product and business initiatives
  • Strong organizational, planning and forecasting skills; extreme attention to detail
  • Creative, assertive and solution-oriented with ability to thrive in fast-paced, challenging environment
  • Ability to present and defend a business argument both one-on-one and in a group setting
